Perception of Nature

We pay significant attention to activities devoted to work of human senses in nature. Do kids and adults always can see, hear, smell, and sometimes taste and feel natural objects? Often they don't notice interesting objects on a trail or a bird in the sky, and then surprised - how did it happen? Activities that "switching on" senses form skills of observation and perception. Examples of activities that we developed and used in our work are observed below.

  • "Smells in Nature" - participants make efforts to memorize all smells on a certain part of a trail. The trail is prepared for that especially. Flowers and herbs are planted, some of them grow up there naturally.

  • "Colors in Nature" - using special Answer Sheet, participants notice what natural objects have what colors and try to understand why, and why certain given colors are considering as unnatural and why.

  • "Keeping Sunbeam in Your Hands" - participants learn a role of sunlight in a forest and go through the very emotional situation when Sun beams play with shadows in morning hours.

  • "Night Walk" - group go through the night forest or meadow on a trail and notice all signs of the nightlife of animals. The unusual atmosphere of the walk gives a special perception and emotions.

  • "Mineral Point" - this activity allows participants to look inside an Earth core by looking to different kinds of minerals.

  • "Experts on Work" - participants become experts trying to identify different natural objects, local and exotic, in a special way.

Algorithms and content of all activities and game elements are developed and described in details. As soon as we will get an opportunity to publish our activities, one by one or in a book, we will attach links to these publications.
